    <title><![CDATA[PRECISE REAL TIME CLOCK HAS WORLD’S LOWEST CURRENT DRAIN]]></title>

    <description><![CDATA[<p>For applications requiring ultra-low power consumption, Micro Crystal has introduced a SMD package real time clock (RTC) that typically draws just 130nA @ 3.0V. The RV-2123-C2 is ideal for compact portable devices, especially where a super capacitor is used for backup supply operation. Its ultra-wide 1.1V to 5.5V operating range provides added flexibility. Communications with other circuitry is simplified by an SPI-Bus&reg; (SCL up to 8 MHz @ 5.0V).<br />
&nbsp;<br />
The SON 10 pin ceramic package contains a built-in 32.768 kHz Tuning Fork crystal, matched with a CMOS-based oscillator and real-time-clock circuitry. At room temperature, frequency and time keeping is within +/-10ppm or within +/- 20ppm @ 25&deg;C.&nbsp; A user programmable Frequency Offset Compensation Register can be used to improve time accuracy.&nbsp; Aging rate is at a maximum of 3ppm for the first year. <br />
&nbsp;<br />
The clock function tracks minutes and seconds either in 24-hour or in 12-hour AM/PM format. Programmable alarm setting and universal timer functions further increase flexibility. A calendar function provides year, month, date, and day-of-the-week, with built-in century and leap-year flags. <br />
&nbsp;<br />
Moreover, the RV-2123-C2 offers open-drain Interrupt and programmable Clock Output for peripherals devices (32.768 kHz down to 1 Hz).<br />
&nbsp;<br />
Because it is entirely self-contained, the RV-2123-C2 is a simple solution that can save engineering, procurement and inventory costs. External dimensions of the standard ceramic package are 5.0 x 3.2 x 1.2 max. mm. Like all Micro Crystal products, it is RoHS compliant and 100% lead free. <br />
&nbsp;<br />
Potential applications are widespread, including: battery powered handheld devices, portable point of sales terminals, GPS, digital still cameras, glucose meters, security systems, appliances, factory automation, programmable logic control and data loggers.<br />

    <title><![CDATA[Micro Crystal introduces smallest ceramic package Mhz Quarz Crystal for implantable and high reliable applications]]></title>

    <description><![CDATA[<p><b>Grenchen, July 7th 2009:</b> Circuit designers pressed for space should check out Micro Crystal&rsquo;s newest MHz quartz crystal, the CC7A-T1A. Designed for applications in implantable medical and medical telemetry, avionics, automotive and other high-reliability markets, this precision timing crystal has a package height of 0.90mm and a footprint of only 3.2 x 1.5mm. This is the smallest size available for implantable crystals and marks an extension of the new small size line-up of implantable, high-reliable crystals of Micro Crystal. An already-released, low frequency version, covers from <br />
30 to 500kHz and 32.768kHz and comes in the same package.</p>
<p>Intended for critical timing applications, the AT cut quartz crystal CC7A-T1A offers a wide temperature range, up to -40 to +85/+125&deg;C, and a high thermal stability for medical applications (down to +/-10ppm), which meets the requirements for wireless applications. Low aging and very high 5.000g shock and vibration resistance combine to make this device ideal to meet the specifications of the high-reliable market applications. An innovative crystal design provides performance comparable to larger devices. The CC7A-T1A is RoHS compliant and 100% lead free.</p>
<p>Micro Crystal also offers extended custom testing screening in order to meet the requirement of cardiologic and neurostimulation applications for implantable devices, including particle detection, <br />
X-ray scanning and others. Standard frequencies are 24.0, 26.0 and 26.5MHz, with other frequencies in the 24 to 30MHz range upon request. All frequencies are generated in fundamental mode. The crystals are supplied in special trays (170 crystals per tray). For pick-and-place equipment, the parts are available in 12 mm tapes: 7&rdquo; (178 mm) reel with 3&rsquo;000 crystals13&rdquo; (330 mm) reel with 14&rsquo;000 crystals.<br />

&nbsp;<br />
The Micro Crystal CC7A-T1A is available in production quantities, with eight to sixteen week lead time. Prices are dependent on custom testing specifications and range from $4.00 to $20.00 each in 10,000 piece lots.<br />
